Fairview resident Jeanne Lois Rosentrater, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Gresham.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 2530 S.E. 89th Ave., Portland.
Jeanne was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Earlville, Iowa, to John Harold and Lillie Mae (Parkin) Beckner. She was raised and educated in rural America. As a teenager, she worked in a cannery.
She moved to Bremerton, Wash. During World War II, she was a secretary at the Puget Sound Naval Yard.
On July 18, 1946, Jeanne married James Rosentrater in Bremerton, Wash. They made their home in Dubuque, Iowa. They later lived in Tabor, Iowa; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Southwick, Idaho; Moscow, Idaho; Hermiston and Seattle. In 1993, they moved to Portland.
Jeanne was a homemaker. She taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school classes, and played the piano for a number of churches where her husband served as pastor.
Survivors include her husband of Fairview; sons, Kenneth Rosentrater of Anchorage, Alaska, Keith Rosentrater of Salem and Karl Rosentrater of Sandy; brother, Virgil Beckner of Potlatch, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
