| 12640 | Marilyn M. Rosentreter AnnArbor.com (MI) - Saturday, November 14, 2009 Rosentreter, Marilyn M. (Henes) Dexter, MI My mom, Marilyn, 82, went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 8, 2009. She slipped away quickly and peacefully at home embraced in the arms of her loving family. She was born on September 9, 1927 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Herman and Clara Henes. She married the love of her life, Walt Rosentreter in 1947. They raised two daughters, Joanne and Cheryl. Marilyn's special God-given gifts were her love of life, her sense of humor, and her lightshine to others. She especially enjoyed God's beautiful world - green farm fields, golden autumn leaves, bright songbirds, bushy-tailed black squirrels, vegetable gardens, flowers, and her special cat, Bailey. Her interests in life were bowling, sports (especially the Tigers and Pistons), events at church, concerts, travel, and community events. My mom helped with the Girl Scouts and for several years taught 4-H knitting. Working with kids at the middle school in Dexter for over 14 years was a highlight in her life. The most important part of her life was the Lord's work and St. Andrew's Church where she was baptized, confirmed and attended her entire life as did her parents. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the women's guild, attended Bible studies, and worked on many church functions and dinners. In her lifetime, she was a kind and loving caregiver to many of her family members. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Andy (Nicky) Bobo, Tracey Bobo, and the little sunbeam of her life, her great-grand-daughter, Ashley. Mom, we love you and you will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Andrew's Church in Dexter on Friday, November 20 at 11 a.m. The visitation will begin at 10:30. A luncheon will follow and all are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Dexter. | Henes, Marilyn M (I10068)

| 12844 | My grandfather is Paul Theodor Rozanski, born 27 April 1908, Kaufmann and Polizeiwachtmeister. Birth certificate is on Gen Wiki and my ancestry account. Secret. His parents are Paul Theodor Richard Rozanski, I know from my father that he was a Stuckateur (my dad's information) and married to Margarete Flemming (That name I know from my father). He lived in Schwenkfeldstr. 31 in Breslau most of the time. He must have been divorced about 1915? This Paul Theodor Richard has signed the death certicate of Susanne Leuschner, who was the wife of Theodor Alexander Rozanski, who was his father. Theodor Alexander also had a son called Theodor. So, I know - it's not so easy to keep all the Theodors and Pauls apart. Franciscus Xaverius Rozanski, who was a master shoemaker, lived in Posen and is the father of Theodor Alexander Rozanski. I suppose for political reasons the descendants of F. X. preferred to go to other places. After 1874 Rozanskis can be found in the registration ekatoteka. I know from my father that my grandfather Paul knew his uncle Adolf Flemming well, he was a travelling actor, I went backwards to find the Rozanski line, also using the Breslau/Posen address books. What is your user name on ancestry? Maybe I can read the copies of the files better on there. I also know from my father that there were fiddlers in the family. They possessed a pub somewhere, I heard it still exists, my father does not want to know a tell me more, he had a little argument about that on my birthday - it was hard for me, ..... . But that is how he is - catholic, and he was very strict and "Prussian". Not a family person at all. His son was his fav. Thank you ever so much. Sabine. | Różański, Paul Theodor Richard (I5747)

| 12847 | MYRON A. ROSENTRETER, 1904-2005 Blade, The (Toledo, OH) - Saturday, February 12, 2005 SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2005 OAK HARBOR, Ohio - Myron A. Rosentreter, a past Ottawa County prosecutor known for his fiery court demeanor and sharp, meticulous mind, died yesterday at Riverview Healthcare Campus. He was 100. Mr. Rosentreter died of respiratory failure, family members said. Born in Oak Harbor, the son of a leather worker, Mr. Rosentreter graduated from Oak Harbor High School, went on to study and graduate from the then-Toledo University, the Judge Advocate General's school in Ann Arbor, and finally from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1935. After he graduated from law school, Mr. Rosentreter took over the law firm of his brother, Norton - an Oak Harbor practice known as the Rosentreter Law Offices. "He was known as 'Iron Mike' in the courtroom - he got fired up, shook his fist, was very intense and animated," said his granddaughter, Lori Chapin. "He was a real little guy, not too tall, but he didn't back down from anybody." When World War II broke out, Mr. Rosentreter joined the U.S. Army and served as a Judge Advocate in Orlando, Fla. While there, in 1944, he was married to Margaret Tucker, a friend from Toledo. He left the Army with the rank of captain, and returned to his Oak Harbor law practice. "That practice was a cradle for judges," said his granddaughter, remembering that a total of seven of the practice's attorneys went on to serve on the bench. In 1953, Mr. Rosentreter was elected prosecuting attorney of Ottawa County. But after two years he again returned to the practice he loved, where he remained until he was in his 80s. To occupy his free time, Mr. Rosentreter picked hobbies that meshed with his sharp mind and frugal habits. "Stocks were his hobby," his granddaughter said. "He was a brilliant investor, smart and frugal and financially wise." His reputation for keen investing landed him a position as chairman of the board of directors of the National Bank of Oak Harbor, where he remained chairman emeritus until he died. His home, like his finances, was maintained with meticulous care. "He was a perfectionist: He took care of his lawn until he broke his back," his granddaughter said. "Then it was my turn, and it was very hard to measure up," she laughed. Mr. Rosentreter was a council member of St. Paul United Church of Christ; 75-year member and past district deputy grand master of Oak Harbor Masonic Lodge 495; a member of the Knights of Pythias; charter member and past president of Oak Harbor Rotary Club; member of the Ohio State, Ottawa County, and American Bar Associations, and of the Oak Harbor Board of Public Affairs. Four granddaughters survive. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Crosser Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul United Church of Christ. | Rosentreter, Myron Adolf (I1902)

| 12893 | Obituary Daryll N. Rosentreter, 74, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born November 24, 1946 in Wausau, son of the late Hilmer and Ethlyn (Hartwig) Rosentreter. On February 21, 1970 he married Jane Rempke at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. He is survived by his three children, Tress, Chad(Amelia), Michael, three grandchildren Olivia, Brennan, Emerson, four granddogs; Gloria, Jack, Bucky, Spryo, one sister, Linda Ploeger, two sister-in-laws; Therese (John) Maguire, Mary(Xavier) Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews. Daryll was first and foremost an exceptional father, dedicated and loving husband to his wife of 50 years, and friend to many who devoted his life to the people he loved. Those who knew him well could provide witness to how special he was capable of making them feel, one of his many talents. Daryll was a man of inexhaustible humor with an evident love of people and laughter. Considered by many a “jokester” he thrived in any situation he could elicit a laugh from others. Daryll served our country in the Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War. Following his return to the states he set his ambitions toward carpentry and cabinet making, becoming an accomplished woodworker and supervisor at Kolbe and Kolbe for several years while supporting his growing family. Several years into his career he decided to change paths and pursued a degree and career in data processing, in which he worked until his retirement. During his retirement years he could be found volunteering his time at Helping Hands, marketing and selling his beef jerky, Mr. DNR Jerky, and engaging with the public at the Wausau Farmer’s Market. When Daryll was not busy with his “shenanigans”, volunteering his time or working on perfecting his meticulously crafted beef jerky recipe he spent the better portion of over four decades curating, he could be found watching Wisconsin sports (Badgers, Packers, Bucks), camping, hunting and most of all fishing. Daryll touched the lives of everyone he knew and was loved by so many. He will be so greatly missed and his memory will live on through his loving children. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. | Rosentreter, Daryll Norman (I1921)

| 12896 | Obituary: One of the saddest occurrences that has taken place in this city for many months, was the sudden death on Friday evening about 6 o'clock, of . Antone Schmitz at her home on South Broad Street (Carlinville, Illinois). While sitting at the supper table surrounded by her family, in apparently the very best of health, she suddenly fell from the cair and expired almost instantly. Two physicians were hastily summoned and they worked heroically to revive her, but without avail: She had passed beyond all human aid. The death of a loved one is a shock even when this event is expected. But when it comes as did the passing of . Schmitz, so sudden, without a moments warning; it is more than a shock, it is a tragedy. . Schmitz was aged 42 years. Frances Rosentreter Schmitz was the daughter of Mr. and . Andrew Rosentreter, and was born August 28, 1873 in Damrau, East Prussia, Germany. When nine years of age, she came with her parents to America. The family settled south of Carlinville. This city and vicinity has been the home of the decesed since her coming to this country. February 12, 1895, she was united in marriage ith Anton Schmitz at St. Joseph's church in Carlinville. To this union were born the following childred: Elizabeth, Alex, Alfred and Margaret Schmitz. The eldest son, Alex., has for several years been an employee of the Democrat office. These children and the husband survive her. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: . Mary Gerlach, . Anna Napeonteck, Milwaukee, Wis; . F. Link, Quincy; August Resentreter, San Bernadino, Cal; Joseph and Andrew Rosentreter, Kansas city, MO, and Paul Rosentreter of Ironton, MO. . Schmitz was a devoted christian wife and mother. She was always active in church work and her faithfulness in this behalf is attested by her many friends. In her home she passed golden days of self-sacrifice in training her sons and daughters in the path of usefulness and right living. And to her sorrowing husband and children this will be a sacred memory in the years to come. the family and friends have the sincere sympathy of the community in their sorrow. Funeral serverces were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's church, of which the deceased was a member. The Pastor, Rev. Father Michael, officiated. There was a large congregation in attendance at the last rites. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The pallbearers were the following: Adam Schefer, Adam Ross, Joe Watermeier, Henry Hesseldenz, Frank Schultz, and August Pockryzski. Interment was in the [Carlinville] Catholic cemetery. All of the brothers and sisters were present at the funeral excepting August and Andrew Rosentreter, who were unable to attend. Card of Thanks. For the many, many acts of kindness and sympathy extended to us during our recent great bereavement, the loss of our wife and mother, we extend to our friends our heartfelt thanks. At the start of the war, the Rosentreter family escaped to Shanghai, then sent Paul to Belgium on a Kindertransport in 1939. He lived with a Dutch foster family in Antwerp. During the invasion of Belgium in May 1940, the foster family took Paul and fled to France, where they left him in the care of the Belgian Red Cross in Paris. The Red Cross, assuming Paul was Dutch, sent him to the Netherlands to live with two different foster families in Den Haag. Paul was then sent to the Jewish Orphanage in Den Haag on June 18, 1941. Due to the trauma he'd experienced, he had developed some behavior issues and caused a lot of trouble in the orphanage, so he was then sent to an institution for mentally handicapped Jewish children in March 1942. The institution was collectively deported to Auschwitz in January 1943, and Paul was one of the victims, being murdered upon arrival on January 25, 1943.
