    • This close up snip is also from FHL Microfilm 1194721 for the Evangelical church at Jankendorf, Kreis Chodziesen, Grand Duchy Posen, Prussia. On 15 Feb 1827 at midday 1 o'clock in Jankendorf, Peter Rosentreter died. He was age 35 years, 9 months, so he was born about May 1791. He was an "Einwohner," meaning an inhabitant or resident. His father was a "Wirth in Nowieske," meaning a landlord or farmer in that place, Peter Rosentreter. The mother was Susanna born "Stevenau" {Stewenau], so they were my 4th-great-grandparents and this deceased young Peter was a younger brother of my 3rd-great-grandmother, Anna Justine (Rosentreter) Düsterhoeft.
Young Peter died of "Abzehrung," meaning consumption or tuberculosis. Peter's death was reported by his widow, Anna Justine born "Sawal" [Sawall]. He was survived by his wife and one minor age daughter.

    • Snip is from FHL Microfilm 752864 for the Evangelical (Lutheran) church at Schokken, which after 1815 was organized in Kreis (County) Wongrowitz, Grand Duchy of Posen, Prussia. This marriage is from 28 Oct 1781. At that time, Schokken was still under the Polish kingdom and was not part of the First Partition of Poland, which gave West Prussia and the Netze (River) District to Prussia. For this area, it is important to understand events in the context of when they occurred.
The record states that on the 28 Oct 1781 married Peter Rosentreter, bachelor and second son of the "Wirth" [landlord, farmer] Friedrich Rosentreter in Gramsdorf, with the maiden Susanna Stewenau, middle daughter of the "Wirth" Michael Stewenau at Bärenbusch. This couple, Peter and Susanna (Stewenau) Rosentreter, would have been one couple of my paternal side 4th-great-grandparents.
