- This image is from FHL Microfilm 1194733 Item 2 for the Evangelical [Lutheran] church at Jankendorf, which was then under the Napoleonic French-occupied "Duchy of Warsaw." The entry from "Podstollitz" [Podstolitz] explains that the "Wirth" [landlord, farmer] Franz Düsterhoefft and his married wife Justina born Rosentreter had on 3 Aug 1812 before midday at 11 o'clock, a daughter born, who on the 12 Aug 1812 was baptized with the name Anna Dorothea.
Baptismal sponsors were the "Schulz" [village mayor] Joseph Meyer and "Gerichtsmann" [member of the judicial court] Peter Lieske. Franz and Justina (Rosentreter) Düsterhoefft were my 3rd-great-grandparents, but this daughter Anna Dorothea was an older sister of my 2nd-great-grandfather, Johann Düsterhoeft.
- This close up snip is from FHL Microfilm 1194721 for the Evangelical (Lutheran) church at Jankendorf, Kreis (County) Chodziesen (later Kolmar by 1878), Grand Duchy Posen, Prussia. This was the death of my 3rd-great-grandmother, the widow Anna Justine Düsterhoeft born Rosentreter. She died on 24 Mar 1829 at 7 o'clock in the morning at "Podstollitz" [Podstolitz] at the age of 44.
So, she was born about 1785 and I have not yet found her birth and baptismal record, but verified her parents in a different fashion. Anna Justine was described as a "Wirthsfrau," meaning the wife of a landlord or farmer. Terminology varied by region across German lands. She died of "hitzige Krankheit," or feverish sickness. Her death was reported to the church by her stepson, Daniel Düsterhoeft.
