Last Rites for John Zettler Are Held at Shive
John Zettler, 82, died in the local hospital Sunday morning at 3:45 o'clock, following a short illness.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Bob Riley Funeral Chapel and continued at 2:30 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive, with Rev. F. L. Bracher officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Shive.
Mr. Zettler was born in Germany July 11, 1874. He came to Texas and first settled in Washington County, and in 1917 moved to the Shive community where he engaged in farming. He was married to Alwine Rosentreter December 29, 1904.
Deceased is survived by his wife, Alwine; six daughters, . Emma Bubert, . Vena Waedekin, . Annie Nichter, . Malinda Bosse, all of Route 2, Hamilton, .Lena Gromatzky of Pottsville; . Ella Jahns, Arlington; one son, Henry Zettler of Sterling City; a half-brother, Henry Zettler of Malone; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased.
