Gazette, The (Colorado Springs, CO) - Sunday, May 4, 2008
Lois Irene (Rosentreter) Klock, age 80, resident of Colorado springs, passed away April 29, 2008. Born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on July 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Norton and Emma (Fisher) Rosentreter. Also preceding her in death were her sister, Dorothy Carter, and nephew, Richard Carter. After graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 1945, Lois obtained a nursing degree and worked as an Army nurse with WWII Veterans at Flower Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. In the late 1940's Lois moved to Colorado Springs to work as a registered nurse at Penrose Hospital. Eager to learn and ready for a new adventure, Lois moved to Washington, D.C. to work with WOL Radio where she earned the call name, "Lois Lane." Lois loved Colorado and eventually returned to work at KBOL Radio in Boulder where she met her former spouse, Donald L. Klock. Before her marriage, Lois moved back to Colorado Springs where she worked for KRDO Radio and gained the nickname, "Rosie." Lois enjoyed studying the Bible and loved to play the piano and sing lively, old-time favorites and spirituals. Her five children were her greatest joy. Lois is survived by her children: Chyme (Doug) Burnham of North Canton, Ohio, David Klock of Park City, Utah, Mike (Robin) Klock of Wapakoneta, Ohio, John (Lygia) Klock of Corvallis, Oregon, and Mary Lou (Dean) Labdon of Yakota Air force Base, Japan, eight grandchildren, and three sisters: Beverly Anderson, Ann Pinell, and Kathryn (Conrad) Lapp, all of Colorado. A service was held for Lois on April 29 at Blunt Mortuary. Lois' family sends their heartfelt appreciation to the exceptional ICU team at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
