Ruth Ann Woodward Rosentrater, 80, passed away on Aug. 18, 2014, surrounded by friends and family, at the home of her daughter, Rob and Sandy Mandeville, of North Platte, where she has lived for the past 14 months.

Ruth was born on Jan. 10, 1934, the second of five girls, on a farm near Callaway to Hilma Christine Kolbo and Marshall Jason Woodward.

She and Glen were married on Sept. 7, 1953, and raised their family on the farm and ranch south of Arnold.

Ruth was first and foremost a devoted follower of Jesus, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Additionally, she was an active member of Tallin Church and Ladies Aid, where she worked alongside many friends in the church and children’s ministries. She and Glen showed hospitality to visiting missionary families and home Bible studies.

In the mid-1980s and ’90s, Ruth was Glen’s “substitute driver” for the Arnold School District.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; her parents; sister, Marcia Townsend; brothers-in-law, Bob Reed, Leroy Beshaler and Ben Comer; and sister-in-law, Nola Rosentrater.

Ruth leaves behind the legacy of her three children, daughter, Sandra (Rob) Mandeville; sons, Craig (Jo), of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and John (Jerolyn), of Lake Panasosfkee, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ryan and Kari Grigg, Lucas Rosentrater, Amy and Joe Buehler, Claire and Alexander Rosentrater; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Reed, of Omaha, Lucille Beshaler, of Callaway, and Sue Comer, of Mesa, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Paul Rosentrater, of Arvada. Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at Tallin Church with Pastor Gene Purcell officiating. Burial will be at the Arnold Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., today, at the Arnold Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
