Alfred D. Rosentreter, 94, formerly of Stanton Heights and Shaler, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Saxon Health Care, Butler County. He was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Duisburg, Germany, to the late Julius and Clara Danial Rosentreter and was the husband of Elfriede Spanial Rosentreter, who died July 5, 2005. Mr. Rosentreter was a painter for painting contractors and a World War II Holocaust survivor who was in concentration camps, held by Germany for three years in the Riga Camp and by Russia for four years in the Latvia Camp. Surviving are daughters Susan R. (Louis III) Arranjo, of Penn Township, Butler County, and Ellen R. (Ray) Mazzoni, of Bethel Park; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Visitation was private. Private graveside services were Friday in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Shaler, with Rabbi Adriane Caplowe officiating. Arrangements by the KYPER FUNERAL HOME, Shaler. Memorials may be made to the United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh, 234 McKee Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
