OBITUARY FROM THE HAMILTON HERALD-NEWS: Mr. Rosentreter
An illness that lasted 11 months ended in the death of Charley J. Rosentreter, 86, at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home Wednesday, Feb. 23. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, Hamilton. The Rev. Paul Meyer and the Rev. Don Rosentreter officiated. Arrangements were under the care of Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Aleman. Pallbearers were Myron Kauitzsch, Terry Bates, Hoble James, Nolan Rosentreter, Junior Rosentreter and David King. Although Mr. Rosentreter was born at Womack, Bosque County, Feb. 3, 1897, he lived in or near Hamilton most of his life. His parents were August and Wilhelmine Bode Rosentreter. He married Amanda Rose Limmer in St. Paul Lutheran Church on Jan. 21, 1923, with the Rev. E. F. Moerbe performing the ceremony. By trade, Mr. Rosentreter was a farmer and building custodian. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. One grandson, Jimmy Tischler, preceded him in death. Five sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Rosentreter of 515 E. Standifer, Hamilton; two sons, Wilburn Rosentreter of Midland and Eugene Rosentreter of Arlington; two daughters, . Laverne Pflueger of Arlington and . Betty Tischler of Hamilton; three sisters, Matilda Senkel of Thrall, Lillie Riewe of Comanche and Lena Riewe of Pflugerville; one brother, Henry Rosentreter of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Charley Rosentreter was preceded in death by his parents, August and Wilhelmine Bode Rosentreter; his grandson, James Wayne Tischler; three brothers, August Rosentreter, Louis Rosentreter and Julius Rosentreter; and five sisters, Wilhelmine Rosentreter Kopp, Anna Rosentreter Zettler, Alwine Rosentreter Zettler, Sophie Rosentreter Feldmann and Albertine Rosentreter Feldmann.
