Death Notice: GERTRUDE C. 'TRUDY' ROSENTRATER

On March 6, Gertrude "Trudy" C. Rosentrater, nee Chekala, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven to join her loving husband Fred W. Rosentrater and their beloved Keeshonds, Schatze and Liebe.

Loving stepmother of Dianne Grubb, nee Rosentrater, and cherished grandmother of Kristina Grubb, both of Baltimore, MD. Beloved daughter of the late Clementine Czerniak Chekala and sister of the late twins Thomas and Rose Chekala.

Niece of the deceased Helen, Sophie and Chester Czerniak.

Long-time close friends with Irene Slemp (late husband Leonard) of Groton, CT, and the families of their three sons: godson Thomas Slemp (Therese) of Venice, FL, daughter Jennifer of Chicago and son Christopher (Ann) of St. Louis, MO; son Gary Slemp (Sandra), goddaughter Lily and her sister Eve, all of East Lyme, CT; and son Mark Slemp (Donna) of Maple Park, IL, their daughter Devyn Grzywa (Ryan) of Sycamore, IL, and their two children.

Dear friends with Marcella Newland, Martha Saldana (late husband Delfino) and their children and grandchildren, Kathryn Ingels (Robert), and Blanca Arellano (Ramon Sr.) of Mexico, and their son.

Ramon Arellano Jr., of Chicago.

Beloved step aunt to many Rosentrater nieces and nephews and cherished by their children.

Member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America 1560.

Trudy will leave a big hole in the hearts of all who knew her and will be sorely missed.

Visitation Thursday, March 11, at Szykowny Funeral Home 4901 S. Archer Ave. Chicago, Ill. 4 to 8 pm. Friday morning, March 12, a funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church at 9:00am, followed by Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Trudy would like contributions in her memory made to someone in need or the charity of your choice.
